WoW Unveils Schedule for Second Turbulent Timeways Event

Summary

  • World of Warcraft's Turbulent Timeways event features seven weeks of Timewalking campaigns until February 24.
  • Players can earn new rewards, numerous Timewarped Badges, and a powerful experience buff.
  • Achieving Mastery of Timeways for five out of the seven weeks earns the Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2 achievement, along with the Timely Buzzbee mount.

World of Warcraft has just unveiled the schedule for the latest Turbulent Timeways event, featuring seven consecutive weeks of Timewalking campaigns. From now until February 24, players will dive into every Timewalking expansion, earning new rewards, heaps of Timewarped Badges, and a significant experience buff.

The Turbulent Timeways event, first introduced in September 2023, initially ran for five weeks. During that period, players could earn a stackable buff that, after completing four Timewalking dungeons, would transform into the Mastery of Timeways buff, offering a 20% experience boost. Those who earned this buff for all five weeks received the Master of the Turbulent Timeways achievement and the Sandy Shalewing pet.

Now, the Turbulent Timeways event is back and bigger than ever. Over the next seven weeks, players will engage in a different Timewalking campaign each week, starting with Mists of Pandaria on January 7 and concluding with Cataclysm the week of February 18. Each week will feature the standard quests, dungeons, and raids associated with World of Warcraft Timewalking campaigns, alongside the return of the stackable Mastery of Timeways buff.

World of Warcraft Turbulent Timeways Event Schedule

  • January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
  • January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
  • January 21-27: Legion
  • January 28-February 3: Classic
  • February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
  • February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
  • February 18-24: Cataclysm

Players who achieve Mastery of Timeways for five out of these seven weeks will unlock the Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2 achievement and the adorable Timely Buzzbee mount. Timewalking vendors for each expansion will have new permanent items in their stock, including Season of Discovery-themed World of Warcraft transmogs at the Classic vendor. Additionally, during this event, the Sandy Shalewing will be available for those who missed the previous Turbulent Timeways. The Cache of Nerubian Treasures, awarded for completing the weekly Timewalking dungeon quest, will offer Heroic gear during the event.

Following the conclusion of the World of Warcraft 20th anniversary event, which featured 11 weeks of consecutive Timewalking campaigns, players will now enjoy a total of 18 weeks of Timewalking between these two events.

The end date of the Turbulent Timeways event also hints at upcoming plans for World of Warcraft. With the last Timewalking campaign ending on February 24, and considering the typical eight-week release cycle, February 25 appears to be the likely release date for World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, Undermined, which will follow 10 weeks after Patch 11.0.7. With the Turbulent Timeways, the second run of Plunderstorm from January 14 through February 17, and the first major content update for The War Within shortly after, World of Warcraft is set to start 2025 with a bang.
