Elden Ring: Nightreign will omit the in-game messaging feature previously seen in other FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's shorter play sessions. With each Nightreign session lasting approximately forty minutes, the team felt there wasn't sufficient time for players to effectively utilize the messaging system.
Ishizaki stated, "With sessions lasting roughly forty minutes, there isn't enough time to send your own messages or read other people's messages, therefore we disabled the messaging feature."
This change is notable, considering the significant role messaging has played in enhancing player interaction and enjoyment within the FromSoftware game universe. However, the developers deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's unique design.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a separate narrative. The game promises a fresh adventure, introducing new challenges and encounters while preserving the atmospheric richness and complexity of the Elden Ring world.
