Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.: Uses and Acquisition Methods

by Chloe Apr 12,2025

Conquering a level in the thrilling co-op game *R.E.P.O.* is no small feat. After triumphing over the challenges, you and your squad arrive at the Service Station, where you can invest in new weapons and upgrades, including the valuable Energy Crystals. Here’s everything you need to know about these game-changing crystals and how to secure more of them.

What Are Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.?

Energy Crystals, those gleaming yellow gems found at the Service Station, become available after you successfully complete your first level. They can be purchased for a price ranging between $7,000 and $9,000. It's wise to grab them early in the game when the difficulty level is lower and costs are more manageable. If you've managed to navigate the initial onslaught of monsters without taking too much damage, you'll have the funds to stock up on these essential items right away.

Once you purchase an Energy Crystal, it generates an Energy Container/Station within your R.E.P.O. truck. This container is a pivotal asset, enabling you to recharge essential tools such as the Valuables or Extraction Tracker by simply placing them inside. This feature not only cuts down on the need for frequent replacements but also helps your team save money over time. To recharge an item, place it in the bin marked with a yellow lightning bolt next to the container, and watch as it powers up, ready to face the next Clown, Gnome, or Shadow Child.

Energy Crystals will automatically appear in the container once purchased, so you don't need to worry about them missing from your truck like other items might. However, these crystals have a limited lifespan and will deplete with use, eventually requiring replacement. On average, one crystal can refill four battery sections of an item, while six crystals are needed to fully recharge the Energy Container.

How to Get More Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.

Energy Crystals are exclusively available at the Service Station, and their high cost means you'll need to be strategic. To ensure you have enough cash to purchase these vital items, make sure to loot and scavenge as many valuables as possible during each level. Only by passing a level with sufficient funds will the Taxman grant you access to the Service Station.

In particularly tough locations, it might be wise to focus on surviving with just enough money to clear the level, rather than risking it all for additional loot. Prioritize your safety and financial planning to keep your team stocked with Energy Crystals and ready for the next challenge.

That’s the lowdown on Energy Crystals in *R.E.P.O.* and how to keep your supply topped up. Happy gaming!
