Equipping the Torch in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To equip a torch, access your inventory, equip a pouch, then select and equip the torch. Exiting the inventory, press and hold the down directional button (d-pad) to activate the torch (for Henry to hold it). PC players should press the 'R' key.
A red shield icon next to the torch in your inventory confirms it's equipped. Remember, torch flames extinguish over time; keep spares handy.
Note: Simultaneous weapon and torch use is possible, but only with one-handed weapons. Two-handed weapons or shields are incompatible with torch use.
Why Use a Torch?
Beyond improved visibility in darkness, carrying a torch at night within settlements and towns is mandatory. Guards will pursue and interrogate anyone found without one, demanding a Groschen bribe or imprisonment.
Additionally, locals may be less cooperative in the dark if you're not carrying a lit torch.
Obtaining Torches
Torches are readily available from general merchants in towns or by looting corpses and chests.
