Exciting news for fans of *Stellar Blade* — developer Shift Up has officially confirmed that a full-fledged sequel is in the works. The announcement came as part of the company’s latest financial report, which included a development roadmap outlining future projects. The original *Stellar Blade*, released in April 2024 as a PlayStation-published title, was praised for its engaging combat system that drew inspiration from titles like *NieR: Automata* and *Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice*.
Within the presentation slides detailing Shift Up’s franchise expansion strategy, the *Stellar Blade* sequel is clearly marked as the next major project on the horizon. Before the sequel launches, the roadmap also references a "platform expansion" for the game, which is widely interpreted as the upcoming PC release scheduled for June 11, 2025. This will allow even more players to experience the intense action and stylized visuals that made the original title stand out.
In addition to the *Stellar Blade* sequel, Shift Up's development pipeline includes the highly anticipated **Project Witches**, a brand-new multiplatform action RPG that remains under wraps for now but is expected to launch before 2027.
Earlier this week, Shift Up addressed concerns regarding an unexpected regional lockout affecting the *Stellar Blade* Steam store page in over 100 countries. The studio stated it was in active discussions with Sony to resolve the issue, highlighting the importance of global accessibility for their growing fanbase.
IGN’s review of *Stellar Blade* noted both its visual flair and gameplay strengths, along with some notable shortcomings: “*Stellar Blade stands out as a gorgeous and well-crafted action game with very impressive strengths and very clear weaknesses.*”
While the narrative and supporting characters were seen as underdeveloped, and certain RPG mechanics such as sidequests felt repetitive, the core gameplay remained compelling. The Sekiro-inspired combat offered a robust and challenging experience, complemented by grotesque enemy designs and rewarding exploration elements that kept players engaged throughout.
