LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has unveiled ambitious plans to significantly expand the company's digital footprint, venturing into the world of video game development. This strategic move involves both independent game creation and collaborations with other industry players.
Christiansen stated, “We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing.”
This expansion into in-house game development doesn't signal an end to LEGO's successful brand licensing agreements. Recent reports indicate TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new game, likely based on a Warner Bros. franchise.

LEGO's current gaming endeavors are substantial, most notably its ongoing partnership with Epic Games. Last year's Fortnite LEGO-themed mode proved incredibly popular, highlighting the potential for successful collaborations.
The company also boasts a long-standing relationship with TT Games, resulting in a hugely successful series of adventure games spanning two decades. While new projects from TT Games have been relatively quiet recently, rumors persist of a new LEGO Harry Potter game, potentially inspired by the phenomenal success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Further demonstrating LEGO's commitment to the gaming industry and its diverse approach, the company partnered with 2K Games to release LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game launched last year, showcasing the brand's adaptability and reach within the gaming market.
