NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals enthusiasts: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half as part of the game's ongoing seasons. This announcement came from the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, during an insightful interview with Metro. Chen outlined the ambitious post-launch strategy, committing to delivering a new playable character every half-season, which translates to approximately every six weeks.

"Each season will feature new seasonal narratives, fresh maps, and new heroes," Chen explained. "We're structuring each season to last three months, split into two halves, with a new hero introduced in each half. Our goal is to continually enrich the game experience and keep our community engaged and excited."

As Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls progresses, it has already introduced Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in its first half, with The Thing and the Human Torch set to join the roster in the second half. These iconic characters have set a high bar, and maintaining this momentum will be crucial for the game's future.

The initial launch of Marvel Rivals included a robust lineup of heroes such as Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. Speculation about future additions is rife, with characters like Blade rumored for Season 2, and fans eagerly anticipating the inclusion of Daredevil, Deadpool, and other X-Men members. Given the game's success to date, NetEase shows no signs of slowing down their expansion plans.

Alongside new heroes, Season 1 brought significant balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more updates on the horizon.
