NieR: Automata's opening introduces 2B's mission. After deploying and engaging in melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword.
The two-handed sword, the Virtuous Treaty, is a powerful weapon temporarily lost after the prologue. However, it's quickly recoverable once free-roaming is unlocked in the next chapter.
Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
This early-game weapon is easily accessible near your initial spawn point after exiting the bunker. Upon landing in the city ruins, descend to the lower area. To your left, locate the highway above the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, using the ruins to climb onto the road. This path leads back towards the factory.
Jump down to the factory and follow the grassy path to the main structure. On the left, you'll find another access point with stairs leading upwards. From this upper area, locate the destroyed bridge (where you fought the Goliath). The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground at the bridge's edge.
Your discarded body lies just to the right of the sword, allowing you to reclaim any remaining consumables from the prologue.
Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Light 2, Heavy 2
Typical of two-handed weapons, the Virtuous Treaty excels at wide-range attacks, dealing significant damage to multiple enemies. Its attack speed is notably slow. However, upgrades can potentially make it one of the highest-damage weapons in the game, provided you adapt to its slower pace. You can also incorporate it into combos with faster weapons by using a heavy attack during a quicker weapon's sequence. While this prevents a full Virtuous Treaty combo, it leverages its high damage output while mitigating the slow attack speed.
