Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1 introduces Sprites, helpful apparitions offering players valuable items and abilities. The Earth Sprite, the most beneficial but elusive of these, can be a game-changer. Here’s how to locate and interact with it.
Fortnite Earth Sprite Spawns

Earth Sprites appear only in the new Chapter 6 Battle Royale map (including Zero Build and Ranked modes), not in other game modes like OG or Reload. While nearly two dozen potential spawn locations exist, indicated by distinctive lanterns (similar to the one pictured above, north of Burd), only two Sprites spawn per match. Finding one might require checking several locations.

Giving Weapons to the Earth Sprite
Locating the Sprite is the challenge. Once found, simply hold the interact button while facing it. This gives the Sprite your currently held weapon, completing the Week 1 Quest and awarding 25,000 XP. Note: you lose the weapon you give, but receive a random Legendary rarity weapon in return. While finding the Sprite takes effort, the high-rarity weapon reward makes it worthwhile.
Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
