Semiwork Studios, the developers behind REPO, unveiled their roadmap for the game, featuring a "duck bucket" to prevent the duck from attacking players. Discover more about upcoming updates and insights from Lethal Company’s creator.

REPO’s Initial Update Highlights

Duck Bucket to Neutralize the Duck

The first update for REPO introduces a new map and a "duck bucket" to manage the troublesome duck. On March 15, Semiwork Studios shared a YouTube video outlining their plans for future game enhancements.

REPO is a cooperative horror game for up to six players, where teams navigate a terrifying world to extract items. Players may encounter The Apex Predator, a deceptive yellow duck that, when disturbed, transforms into a monstrous creature for 10 seconds before reverting to its harmless form.

Soon, the "duck bucket" will allow players to trap the duck, preventing it from trailing them and reducing the risk of triggering its deadly transformation. The update also includes new facial expressions and various quality-of-life improvements.

New Map "The Museum" and Public Lobby Plans

Semiwork Studios revealed a new map, "The Museum," designed to challenge players’ parkour abilities. Extraction points will now display visible boundaries to clarify loot eligibility.

The team is also exploring public lobbies, responding to player feedback. "Most players seem open to matchmaking with options for public or private hosting, including a kick feature. While adding a kick button sounds simple, it requires complex server-side coding, which is new territory for us," the developers explained.

Semiwork Studios noted that implementing public lobbies may take longer due to technical challenges, so players should anticipate a delayed release.

Lethal Company Creator Shares Feedback on REPO

Since its February launch, REPO has drawn comparisons to Lethal Company for its similar mechanics and horror themes. On March 15, Lethal Company creator Zeekers posted on Twitter (X), offering constructive feedback for REPO’s developers.

Zeekers wrote, "REPO is enjoyable. Initially, I found the movement slow and the voice chat range too limited. But coordinating with a team to maneuver a grand piano through a cramped mansion without damage—that’s a brilliantly funny objective for a horror game." In the comments, he added, "I’ll share more thoughts on Patreon, but my top suggestions are: 1. Expand voice chat range and reduce muffling. 2. Vast open levels don’t suit the game’s design as well as the tight mansion layout, much like Phasmophobia."

Replying to a comment about enemies approaching silently, Zeekers noted, "There needs to be an in-game way to understand enemy behavior, but I’m confident the developers are working on it."

R.E.P.O., a viral co-op horror game exclusive to PC, ranks as Steam’s second best-selling title behind Counter-Strike 2. Per SteamDB, it has peaked at over 230,645 concurrent players, nearing Lethal Company’s record of 240,817. Stay informed with the latest R.E.P.O. updates through our article below!
