Meet Monoco and Esquie: New Faces in Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 New Characters

The roster expands to eight characters: seven playable heroes and one dedicated to exploration. Monoco, a Gestral (beings who find meditation in combat), can transform into defeated enemies, adding a unique combat twist. Esquie, the oldest and strongest being, focuses on exploration, granting access to new areas via collected stones that unlock abilities. The previously revealed characters (Gustave, Lune, Maelle, Sciel, Renoir, and Verso) complete the team.

Reactive Turn-Based Combat and Deep Character Customization

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Gameplay

Sandfall Interactive has reinvented classic turn-based combat. A real-time element allows for parrying and dodging, adding a reactive layer. The difficulty adjusts the timing windows for these actions. Deep character customization is key, with unique mechanics and skill trees for each character. Lune, for example, uses "Stain" to power her abilities. "Pictos," equipment modifiers, evolve into permanent Luminas (passive effects) after four battles, offering extensive build variety.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Character Customization

This blend of strategic depth and reactive combat, combined with extensive character customization, promises a compelling RPG experience. Prepare for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 this April!
