Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port for the action-adventure title. While currently a PS5 exclusive due to a partnership with Sony, the game's strong sales and critical acclaim (an 82 average on OpenCritic from 124 reviews, and a top US seller in its launch month) have fueled discussions about expanding its reach.
During a recent IPO press conference, CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is "under consideration," though a timeline remains uncertain due to existing contractual obligations. CFO Jae-woo Ahn further emphasized the growing PC market dominance for AAA titles, suggesting a PC release could significantly boost the IP's value. Shift Up's financial report last month already indicated exploration of both a sequel and a PC port.
This aligns with Sony's increasing trend of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC, as recently exemplified by the upcoming PC release of God of War: Ragnarok. While a definite release date remains elusive, the developer's ongoing interest, coupled with Sony's strategy, makes a PC port for Stellar Blade seem increasingly likely.
Meanwhile, Shift Up continues to refine the PS5 experience, acknowledging and addressing recent graphical issues reported by players. A patch is currently under development to resolve these problems.
