The Witcher 4: Unveiling New Locations and EnemiesFollowing The Game Awards 2024, game director Sebastian Kalemba and executive producer Gosia Mitręga spoke with Gamertag Radio’s Parris. The discussion revealed that Ciri's journey will lead players to unexplored areas of the Continent. The village showcased in the reveal trailer is named Stromford, a place where a disturbing ritual involving young girls is practiced to appease a terrifying entity.

This entity, revealed to be a monster called Bauk, is inspired by Serbian mythology. Kalemba described Bauk as a cunning and fearsome creature. Beyond Bauk, players can expect a plethora of new monstrous adversaries.

A subsequent Skill UP interview on December 15, 2024, confirmed that The Witcher 4's map size will be comparable to The Witcher 3. With Stromford located in the far north, Ciri's adventures will extend beyond the territories explored by Geralt.
