DOOM: The Dark Ages, launching May 15th, aims for maximum accessibility. Unlike previous id Software titles, it boasts extensive customization options, a key focus for executive producer Marty Stratton. This includes adjusting enemy difficulty, damage output, projectile speed, player damage, and even gameplay elements like pacing, aggression, and parry timing.

Stratton assures players that the narratives of DOOM: The Dark Ages and DOOM: Eternal are independently understandable.

The game, revealed at the Xbox Developer_Direct, brings the Slayer to the dark ages with dynamic gameplay powered by the idTech8 engine. This engine promises cutting-edge visuals and performance. Ray tracing enhances the brutality and destruction, adding realistic shadows and dynamic lighting. Minimum, recommended, and ultra settings have been pre-released to prepare players for launch.
