Game launches, especially online titles, often involve various processes. However, Marvel Rivals PC players are encountering excessively long shader compilation times, sometimes lasting several minutes.

Shaders are crucial programs rendering visual elements like lighting and color in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can lead to various problems. Even with correct installation, many Marvel Rivals players experience this issue. Fortunately, a community-discovered workaround exists.

A Marvel Rivals subreddit user, Recent-Smile-4946, proposed a solution that effectively addresses the slow compilation:

  1. Access Nvidia Control Panel: Locate and open your Nvidia control panel.
  2. Adjust Shader Cache Size: Navigate to the global settings and find the Shader Cache Size option.
  3. Set a Lower Value: Set this value to a size less than or equal to your VRAM. Available options are typically 5GB, 10GB, and 100GB; select the closest value to your VRAM.

This method not only drastically reduces shader compilation time (often to just a few seconds) but also resolves "Out of VRAM memory" errors reported by some users.

While this workaround is effective, players may prefer to wait for a developer fix from NetEase. Currently, there's no official acknowledgment or solution from the developer. To avoid lengthy load times, consider trying this solution.

Marvel Rivals is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
